Ertugrul Ghazi the son of Suleman Shah and Hayme Hatun was the prominent figures of 13th century and the leader of a nomad group named Kayi. He was a true Muslim with extraordinary capabilities in war. He was considered in one of the best warrior in that era who gave Byzantines, Crusaders and Mongols a tough time. His bravery and strong leadership set basis for the mighty Ottoman Empire founded by his son Osman Ghazi.
Halime Hatun the daughter of Melik Izeddin (Seljuk ruler) was his only wife. She was a strong woman and remained an important figure in life of Ertrugal Ghazi.
According to historians he had three sons named: Osman I, Gündüz Alp and Saru Batu Savcı Bey.
He is buried in Turkey; Tomb of Ertuğrul Gazi, Söğüt.
