Pirates
Piracy is deed of plunder, immoral violence other than war committed by private group at sea that is not allied by any government. This entitle doesn’t portray the situation of crime which suddenly happened for once or for few times but it relates to the systematic criminal groups across the sea, shore, buttress and air.
In 2nd century when the aquatic trading was planned this criminal act and bunch of people were originated after a very short time. Pirates were publically noticed and augmented after the discloser of new world and the trade routes to subcontinent.
Here we need to discriminate between pirates and privateers. Pirates are those who conduct and loots for the sake of money. On other hand privateers are those who approbated by government that fought at the sea against belligerent countries.
The history records narrates that the first piracy was transpired by the raids of likka sailors in Mediterranean Sea. The pirate’s squadrons of Illyrians which were controlled from their bases in Adriatic Sea usually assault the roman trade and military ships in 1400-1200 BC.
At the end of the 14th century many European countries join forces against this systematic group of looters. English countries had organized defenses and German had made treaties to shield themselves against pirates.
In 15th century trade between subcontinent and Europe had amplify the piracy in that zone. Aggression between the proximate countries gave rise to the formation of privateers who supported officially by their state to booty the machinery of enemy state.
The prominent era of piracy transpire between 1650s and 1730s. That age today is noted as “golden age of piracy”. In that time span the pirates activities were at the peak. Pirates had covered the routes Caribbean, West Africa, Red Sea and subcontinent.
At the end of 18th century pirates ventures were at the apex. In present day the surviving place for systematic piracy is Somalia. Since 2005 they are hijacking the ships in their near water. It has the greatest jolt on the economy of modern world.
